36 riders. 55 miles. Almost £50,000 raised for children and young people, and counting!
On Sunday 13th September, our incredible Herd took on the London to Brighton Bike Ride as part of our partnership with Lindt & Sprüngli UK, cycling 55 miles from London to Brighton to raise vital funds for The Purple Elephant Project.
With 36 riders taking part, including staff, trustees, partners and supporters, it was a brilliant example of what can happen when our community comes together. We absolutely loved being there on the day to cheer everyone on. Seeing so many purple jerseys out on the course was amazing, and we couldn’t have been prouder watching the team take on the challenge.
As our Head of Partnerships, Nina Bradburn, said: “There is something really special about this challenge. We have therapists who support our children every day, our staff and trustees, friends and incredible corporate partners all coming together as one Herd.”
And the fundraising has been just as incredible. The team has already raised almost £50,000, with donations still coming in. 100% of the funds raised will go towards supporting the mental health of children and young people in the local area, helping children and families who cannot afford PEP’s support to access the mental health support they need.
PEP Trustee Alex Calcutt shared what the fundraising means to him:“I knew that every pound we raised would be put to work helping to improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people in our community.”
That’s what made this challenge so special. Every mile, every donation and every person who got involved is helping us reach more children and families who really need us.
