Nicholas Ireland

Professional background: Project controls and governance professional at Northrop Grumman, supporting the delivery of major UK defence and infrastructure programmes, including Astute and Dreadnought. His work focuses on financial oversight, schedule management and risk analysis. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Nicholas completed an internship with Procter & Gamble and worked as a Student Achievement Tutor at Loughborough College, supporting young people with learning disabilities and helping students catch up on their education following the COVID-19 pandemic. He also spent eight years living in the United States.

Specialities and areas of interest:

Nicholas currently serves as a board member at Acorn Milton Keynes and is onboarding to the boards of Ascent Academies and Sound Connections. He supports a range of initiatives focused on youth development, education and veterans’ welfare, including volunteering as a mentor with the Princess Diana Award and recently joining the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity. He has a keen interest in technology, innovation and public policy, and has been invited to support industry conferences and leadership forums, including City Week and the Data, AI and the Future of Financial Services Summit.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

Nicholas enjoys travelling, spending time outdoors and attending live music events.
