The Purple Elephant Project

The Purple Parade

Join the herd for this 4 mile sponsored walk for all the family!

The collective noun for elephants is a herd or a parade. On the 25th of June we hope our community will come together for our very own Purple Parade!

So be a super hero and gather your friends or family, and sign up today.

Every penny we raise together will ensure that more local children can get the mental health support that they need.

Whether you choose to wear something purple, or decide to dress as the super hero you are,
this Purple Parade is sure to make an impact!

Key information

Our walk will start and finish at The Purple Elelphant Project’s centre, and will follow an out and back route along the River Crane to the Shot Tower in Crane Park.

The start: Please arrive at the centre for 10am to register and join together for a bit of a warm up before setting off at 10.15am. You can walk with others, or with your own group, and everyone can walk at their own pace. On street parking on Kneller Road is free on Sundays.

The route: The walk will follow the Crane Path alongside The Stoop (home to Harlequins RFC), through Kneller Gardens, and along to Crane Park. When you reach the Shot Tower, look out for members of our herd who will be there with refreshments and a few activities for the children. As you pass back through Kneller Gardens, if you have children in your group, do stop for a quick play in the playground if they’d like to!

We will ensure you have clear directions, and marshals will be at key points along the way.

The finish: As you arrive back at The Purple Elephant Project and cross the finish line, we’ll be there to cheer you in and shower you in congratulations! There will be a final art activity for the children (and big kids!) to decorate their own clay elephant to take home as a keepsake from the walk. We anticipate that everyone will be finished by 12.45pm in time to head home for lunch!

How to sign up: Follow the link below to sign up yourself and your group up today. Entry is free – we simply ask you to raise what you can in sponsorship.
